About me

I’m Vitor Calejuri, based in São Paulo, Brazil. 🌴

My roots are in art and technology, which taught me to value both aesthetics and deep technical execution. Today, I channel that creative hacker ethos into building resilient systems as a software engineer specializing in functional programming and web standards.

My focus is on the Elixir/Javascript ecosystem. I advocate for a “less is more” philosophy—minimizing client-side complexity in favor of robust, server-driven architectures.

When I’m not writing code, I’m running, biking, or mountaineering.

Career

Nubank
2022-2024

I architected and built the React/TypeScript Design System for the NuPay Pix back-office, providing the core infrastructure used by brazilian major merchants like Shopee, Electrolux, and Droga Raia. Beyond the frontend, I executed the technical development of NuPay’s highest-impact mobile flows, the native checkout integrations for Uber and iFood using a stack of Flutter and Clojure.

I also helped the implementation with the migration of legacy SpinPay Node.js/TypeScript services into Nubank’s Clojure ecosystem, using TDD and observability methodologies. This role required constant context-switching between merchant-facing infrastructure and consumer-facing mobile features to ensure end-to-end stability. Additionally, I served as the primary engineering contact for Tier-1 partners like EBANXS, authoring the integration specs and providing direct technical support to unblock their engineering teams during onboarding.

Consorciei
2020-2022

Core developer for the company’s web platform. I helped transition Consorciei from a manual, offline operation into a digital-first business, disrupting a traditional financial market.

Scaled the system from 10 contracts per month to over 200 per day. I built the customer-facing web application and the backend infrastructure that allowed the company to handle this 600x increase in volume.

Joined as one of the first three developers, laying the technical foundation for a startup that has since scaled to 300+ employees. The core web architecture I built remains the primary platform driving the business today.
